A brief list of possible types of content.

Conversational Content

Centered around natural dialogue and interpersonal exchange.

(audience is in the third person POV)

Interview Podcast

A structured format driven by well-thought-out questions designed to explore the guest’s expertise, experiences, or story.  The host guides the conversation with a clear progression, aiming to uncover meaningful insights and provide a deep understanding of the guest’s perspective.

Conversational Podcast

A relaxed and organic format where the focus is on natural dialogue, often revolving around a central theme or idea.  While various themes guide the conversation, the structure is loose, allowing for tangents, storytelling, and authentic back-and-forth exchanges that feel like a casual yet insightful chat.

The Hot Seat: A dynamic, open-dialogue discussion format featuring up to four hosts and multiple Guests. The setting is structured with a central table and two seats, where the conversation unfolds.

  • Guest Engagement: Guests are seated along the perimeter of the room and have the freedom to step up to the table when they feel compelled to contribute.

  • Conversation Flow: A host poses an overarching question, prompting guests to voluntarily take a seat and engage.

  • Rotating Participation: If a guest struggles to continue or feels they’ve contributed enough, they simply stand up and return to the perimeter, allowing another guest to take their place.

Ask Me Anything/Q&A

Audience-driven content where the host responds to submitted questions. This format can be spontaneous or pre-selected, and it allows for direct interaction with followers. It works well for thought leaders, subject matter experts, or personal brands.

Direct-to-Audience Content

Focused on personal insight, commentary, or direct connection.

(audience is in the second person POV)

Vlog / Walk & Talk

A casual, personal video format where the creator shares thoughts, stories, or life updates—often while on the move. Whether filmed at home, during travel, or while walking, this style emphasizes authenticity and connection over polish. It’s an easy way to invite the audience into the creator’s world, offering real-time reflections, behind-the-scenes moments, or spontaneous insights in a relaxed, conversational tone.

Talking Head

A focused, direct-to-camera conversation format used to share insights, experiences, or commentary. Interviews bring out unique perspectives through dynamic exchanges, while talking heads deliver solo thought leadership, storytelling, or explanations in a clear and personal way.

Behind the Scenes

Raw or lightly-edited footage that shows the inner workings of a process—be it production, planning, team dynamics, or creative work. BTS builds transparency and trust, giving the audience a peek at what usually goes unseen.

Educational and Analytical Content

Emphasis on explaining, teaching, or breaking things down clearly.

Demonstration/Promotional

An engaging, action-driven format that showcases how a product, service, or process works while also highlighting its value. Blending hands-on walkthroughs with clear calls-to-action, this style not only shows the audience what something does but also why it matters. It’s ideal for educating viewers while encouraging them to take the next step—whether that’s signing up, purchasing, or sharing.

Deconstructed

An analytical deep dive into a concept, event, idea, or piece of content.Breakdowns aim to make things understandable by dissecting the components, explaining context, and offering commentary. They're great for teaching, clarifying, or adding expert perspective.

But the Day is past. The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.

I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.

You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States.

Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will triumph in that Days Transaction, even although We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.

John Adams to Abigail Adams, 03 July 1776
