Life used to seem happier, warmer, more tender.
The laughter was brighter, the sun shimmered more, almost like every day felt like a sunset.
The grass didn’t have pesticides, the mail being delivered was novelty in itself, and the playground that was a 5 minute walk felt like an entire vacation.
The connections with people were more authentic, you felt seen, you reciprocated to make other people feel seen.
They say the only ones in this world that are loved unconditionally are animals, children, and women.
But why?
Because not only does life feel more unsaturated, but out of focus. Nothing makes sense. Simple is complex. Complex is complicated. Complicated is chaotic. Chaotic is depressing.
The married are looking for distance, the single are looking for closeness.
The young want to be older and the older wished they were young again.
The rich want less and the poor want more.
The famous are jealous of animosity and the anonymous want to be famous.
The ones in love are questioning the future and the ones out of love are yearning.
The lonely want connection and the connected want to be left alone.
If you are not content with what you have, you will never be happy with what you want
